History of Falun Gong
1984
Li Hongzhi creates Falun Gong and practice it in the privacy of his own home.
1989
A two year period trial of observation begins where Li gives instruction to some students in the privacy of his own
home.
May 13-22 1992
Mr.Honzhi formally presents and makes his first public teaching of Falun Gong in China. He does other public teachings with roughly 180 attendants and they do exercises together.
Sept.1992
Falun Gong is officially recognized and also receives a permit to teach its teachings worldwide.
1996
Falun Gong becomes popular and tensions begin with a Communist party of the Ministry of Propaganda and ban the further selling books of Falun Gong. In this year Honqzhi moves to the United States and he currently resides in New York.
1997
China’s Public Security of Bureau conducts investigation of “heretical teaching” and they conclude with absolutely with no evidence.
July 21, 1998 Bureau No.1 Ministry of Public Security issue document N.SSS 1998 (an investigation of Falun Gong) they claim Falun Gong is a heretical cult and they try to find evidence with illegal harassment
· Taping phone calls
· Monitoring volunteers
· Raiding homes
· Confiscating personal belongings
1998
Qiao Shi chairman of standing Committee of National People Congress led own investigation with other members of the Chinese committee and interviewed12,000 Falun Gong practitioners and in the 99.9% of the participants the committee discovered that their health greatly improved.
May-Oct. 1998
Other investigations are led and they conclude the same thing.
Winter 1999-2000
· Many deaths and torture by the police
· Practitioners petition to the government
· International media captures images of the police beating the practitioners of Falun Gong
July 2004
· Estimated 10,000 deaths from torture and harassment
March 2006
A Chinese hospital worker confessed of the atrocities made against the practitioners. The worker confessed that they were even organ harvesting.
As we can see throughout the years that have gone by that this religion has been acontroversy and that it’s not very accepted by the Chinese government.They have suffered injustice and the practitioners have had their rights taken away. As well many lives have been lost by the unlawful harassment and torturing. Even though it is still occurring today, there is still millions of Falun Gong practitioners in China and nationwide.
